The social structure
of the Lochrian people depends primarily upon a royal lineage dating
back to distant times long before the first quartile. As such, the
current rulers of Lochria hold an ancestry that may be traced back
to the very beginning of time as the Lochrians know it, to the beginnings
of the House of Silverbow. Strong and proud of their lineage,
the Lochrians are a peaceful race, that is, until threatened by evil
doings from outside the borders of the Land of Lochria. Best known
for their love of folklore, culinary delights, the Lochrians are indeed
a merry folk with a zest for fellowship.
Lochrians derive
great joy from their beautiful valley with majestic views of the Ginger
Mountains. They frown upon those citizens who would upset the peaceful
ways of the kingdom and encourage them to “fall in line.” Most do
just that.
The Lochrians
maintain their social structure by honoring the one True King (appropriately
descended from the House of Silverbow), and the wisest of the
Lochrians are placed in positions on the Great Council. This group
is elected every other year from the Lochrian men-folk, and while it
is considered a great honor to be elected to the council, it is considered
impolite to “politic” for votes. Daily actions of the Lochrian men
determine their worthiness; it is not a matter of who can convince
the most voters of their particular beneficial qualities for serving
upon the Council. Character and honor are highly valued among the
people, and parents go to great lengths to instill these qualities
in their children.
Only once in
the previous three quartiles has a male Lochrian been dishonestly elected
