Under the Big Top
Barry E. Kopetz
For those lucky enough to remember the days of the circus under canvas,
the excitement and thrills of “The Big Show” will never be
forgotten. Just the word ‘circus’ conjures up within us visions
of utterly unique and marvelously magical wonderland where revelry rules
and far-fetched dreams abound.
Using the authentic circus music of Karl King, a former director of the
Barnum and Bailey circus band and C.L. Barnhouse, the composer has fashioned
a musical flashback to that wonderful era. The music is combined with a
narrator/ “ringmaster” enabling the band to bring the sounds
and flavor of bygone days to the concert hall
Music included in the circus medley:
Garland Entrée – Karl L. King
Among the Roses – C. L. Barnhouse
Circus Days - Karl L. King
Kentucky Sunrise - Karl L. King
Barnum and Bailey’s Favorite - Karl L. King
